Welcome Good to be back and collecting some thoughts after what has been a busy week. Please do gather around. Welcome to some very warm weather here for us, attempting to stay cool. Help yourself to any snacks you can find, be careful of the two dog treat bags on the counter. As good as they look and smell they belong to the new resident dog. Angel moved in last Sunday with very little trouble adapting to her new surroundings. I had left her small kennel out as it has always been a security place for her. The first few days she spent a little time in there. By Tuesday she never looked at it again. There were the customary few days of sleep, eating and walking that required some getting used to. Now she is a fully functioning member of the household. She just loves sleeping on the big bed, cuddled in close to the small of your back. She is better than any heater, she loves her play time late at night and early morning before starting her day. Angel has a rather long range of vocabulary. "Walk, Truck ride, Treats, Pee, Outside" and she knows a few of her new toys by name already. She loves to play fetch and after she brings the toy back loves to play the little growling game before it gets tossed again. Toys are all important for her. She not only came with her supply but she has adopted all of Quigley's toys as well. Of course there has been a few trips to the doggie store to get aquatinted with what she likes. Bring in a new stuffy and it becomes hers immediately. Anything that squeaks seems to be the toy of choice. This goofy looking thing is one of those press a button and it has some 12 different voices that speak something or it laughs. She is partial to hearing the voice and has managed to figure out just where to bite to hear it speak. Angel has found a home where she is loved, she has accepted all of Quigley's special places. This cushion was Quigley's place to lay as I wrote. Today Angel has accepted it and the bear as part of her world. The household has been blessed in so many ways. As silly as it may sound prayers had been for the right dog to come along and fill that empty place left by Quigley. There is little doubt the prayers have been answered. The transition has been good and I am still in contact with the lady who gave her away, we are texting daily so she can be assured Angel has found a good home. Sadly a change in her lifestyle would have been hard for both her and Angel. It was a very hard decision to have been made. The next adventure for Angel is sailing and fishing. Apparently the two will be something all new for her. Today she had a visitor as Lucy a miniature Yorkie stopped by. There of course was a small competition for dominance and Lucy settled in after a brief encounter. At least a few minutes later they were sniffing noses so that is progress. As mentioned in a previous post apparently she was scooped up by a large White Owl who dropped her from a height. Angels one eye had popped out when she laded. Emergency surgery had been preformed but it appears as though she is near completely blind in her left eye. It is something to be aware of and not approach her quickly from that side. All in all she is a keeper for certain. Monday is visit the vet day to get all her shots and a good checkup so there is a starting point to keeping her as healthy as possible. Till next time, keep in mind we have an eclipse happening on Monday. Be sure and watch it but do so with the proper eye protection. So we will be in near darkness at 10:30 in the morning... sending much love and many hugs from Canada... © Rolly A Chabot

What fun! She sounds like she's settling in quite nicely. I can't wait for you to take her out on the water. My big ol' dog Vinny loves being on our boat! Oh, I'll have to share a photo of him with his ears catching the wind and it makes him look like a flying something. Haha. That toy with the face just cracks me up. I'd probably like it more than the dog would. :D I'd be there pushing its buttons over and over, giggling at it like an idiot. Because that's what I do. HAHA. Aww, I just got my doggie a big ol' box of doggie treats, but he's chewed up all his toys. We get him several every so often, but they don't last long against his canine willpower. LOL. This post is a gentle reminder to go get him some more. Hope you have a wonderful week, dear friend! Sending you big hugs!

So nice meeting your Angel. I am sure that she is making a large home in your heart as well as your physical address. Quigley will always remain in your heart.
