Welcome It is a blessing to have cooler weather finally grace the area I live. It has been very warm here this past while so this is a great reprieve. Please find a seat, sorry there is no fire burning so we will have to pretend there is that familiar crackle in the background. Help yourself to what ever you like. After being around I think you know your way to the fridge, cupboards etc. So make yourself at home... We all Have Them They are what I call 'The Junk Drawer." all for things we never find a real home for. The best part is they hide some real treasures and meaningless items which can be classified as non other than junk. Yup.. it is junk as you can see from my infamous drawer I have opened for all the world to see... If anything else I want to give you a good laugh and hopefully you will be willing to attach a picture of yours. When I look at my collection I can see some useful things, Scotch Tape, String, Glasses Cleaner Cloth, Matches, Hand Cleaner, Scissors, Lip Balm, Tape Measure. lol... so what have I got a Lady Bug for... well it happens to be a handy dandy little flashlight/calculator. The rest well it is clutter yet important clutter... like I said we all have them. I suppose you consider it to be a prize of sorts. If you look on the bottom right foot it serves yet another purpose. The feet are magnetic, great for finding loose change. In this case a dime. So could it be classified as junk... lol As we pass through life many of those things that hold us back are like running water. Once it has passed it is gone. I feel we all have our own personal "Junk Drawers" we keep within. They may be joys, sorrows, unforgiveness, pain and suffering. If we keep them they become burdensome. They will hold us back from living a complete life, every once in a while we have to stop and dump them out and sort through them. Hopefully in doing so we can get a little freedom in that private place we call "The Home of Our Heart." We have all had to forgive someone, we go through all the steps and yes we find healing. Yet there are times when the mention of one word takes us right back to that place again. It seems to happen at the snap of the finger. If we fail to deal with it at the time it will come back and bite you time and time again. Each time you go through, well it becomes easier. The one person we will find hard to forgive is ourselves. We are susceptible to self guilt and fear of reliving it all over again. Yet it is important we look at the self doubt and find solace deep within. In closing I leave you with a little something. After chatting with this couple from England and their young daughter her expression never changed. Even after several minutes it remained the same. No matter the expression or cooing shown, I asked if I could take a photo as the expression was so classic. The parents agreed and this was the result. One may ask why I have kept it all these years, the answer would be unclear but I have. It would be special to be able to contact the parents and pass it along. It will be like the many things I have saved in life. I do hope this young lady who would be now in her late teens is able to smile and be filled with joy. Is it important to keep those little mementos. I truly do think so, hopefully they bring back certain memories that warm the heart. My Dad was a collector of small trinkets. After his passing most was given to me and they have become equally important as each tell their own stories. Will they mean the same after I am gone. That greatly depends on where they go. I do hope the recipients of my treasures hold them dear. Hugs as always as you slowly sort through your junk drawers... feel free to share them just as they are.... know that you are dearly loved... © Rolly A. Chabot

Hi Rolly - I have more than one junk-drawer, and even junk-baskets. One for hardware, one for stationery, one for goodies that can be used in the kitchen, one for stuff that can be used in the garden, etc. Your drawer looks like my stationary drawer.
