Welcome This is the second day of looking outside and seeing snow covering the yard. Best slip inside before you get a chill. Today is definitely a "Fireside Day." I smile as I sit and listen to Mrs. Robin outside, rest assured she will never have a down day as she sings of the many blessings she has. I watched with interest as she collected her prizes of the day, her food. I completed all the yard work the other day, doing the usual aerating and detaching and spring fertilizer application. I do have a secret weapon for getting rid of Dew Worms. They are the ones that leave those small mounds you feel underfoot as you walk. Agricultural grade Pot Ash works wonders as it consists strictly of two elements, pure raw salt and iron. A warning one has to monitor your soil as to not exceed the salt content. Both elements which worms dislike terribly and soon slither off for better grounds. Thus the happy and thankful sound of Mrs. Robin. Gather around shall we and lets look at other offerings we make in our daily lives... Our Words. Our Words What is in a word that can be compared to lets say some basic things we use daily. Consider a recipe, fail to follow it and you end likely in disaster. What of how we handle our money, overspend and I think you get the picture. The above photo hopefully gives you a mental picture of our words and just how far reaching they can be. What of our words? Let me suggest something, lets say you restricted to a number of words a day. What would those words be? Would they be positive or negative, would they be uplifting, encouraging or would they condemn or destroy. We all have the same power with words. One word no matter where it comes from has enough effect to change the way we perceive ourselves or for that matter how we perceive oth Doing Our Mental Math
A bit of a challenge for each of us as we recall how we have spent our day. Have we used our allotted words wisely. Mentally form a profit loss statement of what we have torn down or better yet gained or built up. Any proper planning and investing in life we seek to be on the profit side of things. As we reflect can we see where we could have been more careful with what we have been given. Social media is a great place for everyone to express what is on their mind. Sadly it is also a place where people can hide and offer nothing but slander behind a hidden persona. Some social media has become a place of firestorm of condemnation, false news and outright slander ever increasing intensity of hurt. We as writers are charged with a great responsibly of using our words carefully. As well yet another challenge to each of us besides in our daily conversations, how is it we use our words. Lets all be wise with what we have been given. Hugs from Canada © Rolly A. Chabot
