Call me an old sod but I love to help people and if possible bless them in one way or another. It is just part of my nature most times.

I offered to help a fellow from church swath his crops of wheat. It is known as Prairie Gold in these parts. This particular wheat is a registered crop and will most likely become seed for another years crop. Apparently it is also highly sought after and used in milling for flour products.

Machines such as these are amazing and today so very technical. Swath three rounds of the field allowing the onboard computer to communicate with a GPS Satellite in space. It creates a n accurate map within mere inches in replica.  Next all you have to do is choose a line... push a button and look Mom no hands until you reach the other side to turn. The combination of the computer memory and GPS will run you a perfectly straight line to the other side of the field.

On the computer screen it will actually show you the path the machine is taking. The cab is very well equipped. You are sitting high enough with windows all around you have a full view of everything going on about you. Each pass you are taking another 30 feet of field and laying it down in a perfect swath at between 5-6 miles per hour.

Wheat has always been king in Alberta but as we move into the future crops such as Canola, feild peas, and corn have found many uses. Some crops are being used and converting to turned into fuels high in Ethanol.

What is left over is crushed pulp and is being fed to animals in the beef, poultry and swine industry as a high protein feed.

I once had an older gentleman who had farmed for years tell me after all the oil has been sucked from the ground it will be grown on top. He also went on to say a day will come when a driver operator will no longer be needed.

Vehicles left unattended in the field can and will become victims of the stupidity and greed of others for the sake of stealing valuables. It is something I have never been able to understand. I mean for what the perp steals what is he going to get for all his effort.

This is what I found when I made it back to my truck. The passenger side window had been smashed in and the truck had been rifled through. In my case the perps did fairly well as there were many fairly valuable items stolen.

After the police had attended and did their initial assessment the owner is left to clean up the mess and pay for the repairs. In this case the tinted side window costs and labour will amount to 300 plus dollars.

I think the worst part is that in your attempts to help and or bless someone seems to all be set aside as you face the invasion of your personal property and all the inconvenience such a stupid act as this. Most of what was stolen was tucked away from sight of anyone. Never leave change, cash or parcels in plain view.

I guess one consolation comes to mind. They stole 6-8 Cd's which were all Christian music. Who knows what may happen, my prayer is who ever is responsible will come to realize what they have done. If not may what they have stolen bless others who may purchase the stolen property.

Take the time today to think of what may be visible in your vehicles. Remove anything which may allow someone access to your home. Items such as garage door openers, spare keys etc are an easy mark. Keep in mind your registration and insurance papers list your personal address.

Thankfully I learned years ago to remove such things. I am thankful my home is secure with the latest surveillance monitoring systems and connected to a reputable monitoring company.

Hugs to all and know that you are dearly loved.
